Vice-President

Wulf Matthias

My early interest in painting and drawing came to an unfortunate end as a pupil upon graduating from Goethe Gymnasium in Frankfurt am Main’s musical department with art as my main subject.

Due to private reasons, I wasn’t able to effectuate my career goal of being an architect; however, as a banker, through the support of a variety of projects for formative art and music, I stayed connected and true to my artistic interests.

Of special importance to me is the realization of the Salzburg art project, “Art in public space”, and membership in the advisory body of the Foundation for Art and Culture e.V in Bonn.

Beyond that, for instance, I could implement sponsor projects for the Schirn Art Gallery in Frankfurt, the Villa Schöningen in Berlin, as well as the support of opera projects at the Frankfurt Opera.

In the future, I look forward to the execution of new projects in Salzburg with the Salzburg Foundation. Salzburg, as a World Cultural Heritage city, remains one of the most meaningful platforms for outstanding international contemporary artists.
