Study of art history, history, and archaeology in Freiburg and Braunschweig, in addition to a study trip in Italy. Degree: postdoctoral in „Konstanzer Silber“.

1976
Founding of a company that dealt with cataloging and appraising German collections. (This company was taken over in 1980 by auction the house, Sotheby’s.)

1979
Collaboration with Sotheby’s London as an expert in European silver. Responsible for silver auctions in Geneva and London.

1987
Managing director of Sotheby’s Deutschland GmbH and responsible for all business developments and strategies in Europe. Member of the Sotheby’s executive board.

1995
Responsible for the auctioning of the collection from Markgrafen Maximilian von Baden in Baden-Baden.

Since 1996
Own art consultant business that advises customers when buying/selling, with the marketing of individual pieces, with the founding of charities, as well as with other art transactions.
